Right now I am at my laptop coding a blog page for the first time. This is a part of my website I've wanted to add for a while but have never gotten around to. I'm listening to new music because I got tired of the music I usually listen to. It's nightcore. I've been aware of nightcore for as long as I've been online, but I've never paid much mind to it in the past. I highly doubt I'll listen to it too often after today, but it's nice to have something else to listen to, especially something brighter and cheerier.
Last week I was visiting family. They live in a beautiful rural area. I brought my sketchbook and was drawing concepts for shirts and hooides I could theoretically make if I had fabric paint when I thought about something I had been thinking about for a while now. There were only a few pages in the sketchbook left, and I was going to start a new, smaller sketchbook (the old one was traditional 8.5x11 paper size), and I decided I wanted to take art more seriously. I was tired of not knowing much about the basics. So I decided to start from scratch. Yesterday I watched a video that had a very helpful link to a set of exercises about how to hold the pencil and draw from the shoulder. Today I found a helpful webite that helps with drawing figures. I know this isn't likely the "correct order" to do things but it's better than my previous method of "occasionaly watching youtube videos every so often", so I won't complain too much.
While I was there I was also given a keyboard (of the musical kind). I already had a keyboard but it was a cheap kids keyboard, so I gladly took it. While I have not brought it inside I used the keyboard for the first time since late 2024. I'm not promising myself (or anybody) that I'm going to "learn keyboard" and music theory but rather I just wanted to see if it was something I wanted to pick up again.
There's been things I've always been interested in but have never really tried going in depth with, and I think this moment is the perfect time to do that. So I'll keep drawing, playing, and coding. And eventually I'll make the progress I've been looking for this whole time.
